This course equips workers, particularly in healthcare and community services, with essential skills and knowledge to respectfully interact with people from diverse social and cultural groups. It focuses on developing cultural competence, crucial for effective communication and safe, non-judgmental care in various settings. It also provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their own social and cultural perspectives and biases. Completing this unit helps workers recognise, understand, and respond appropriately to cultural differences in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours, promoting inclusive and culturally competent practices in their professional interactions.

Entry Requirements
An individual undertaking this course will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
1. Must meet English and LLN requirements. The Training Package clearly states:
Participants must have significant communication skills, be able to read and understand forms and the ability to record details accurately of an incident.
2. Students must have access to a device with camera and audio recording capabilities, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a webcam. This device will be necessary for creating short videos as part of the assessment, in which students verbally explain the required assessment outcomes.
Course Duration
The online learning and assessment is expected to take approximately 5-6 hours to complete. These timeframes are estimates. Individuals with prior experience in similar training may complete the course in less time, while those new to the subject may need more time to complete all the learning content and assessment questions.
This course is delivered fully online and will be self-paced. Students are expected to complete this course within six (6) months after enrolment.
